Moving on!

Well, it's been a long journey but it's finally over. Needless to say that i had an awesome time at Sheridan and that the people there, both friends and faculty, made it an unforgettable experience. Now it's time to move on and find me a place to start my career. It's a little frightening thinking about never going back to school, but it's also much more exciting saying that I'm working somewhere... IF i find something that is. Anyway, I'm not much of a writer so I'll end this now. Oh! this is my final graduating film by the way. I thought for a moment to continue working on it and get the things that i wanted to fix, fixed. But whatever, i think it's best to let it go and move on to a new, bigger and better project!

more film update!

These are my characters for my film. The big guy is suppose to be the King and the other guy is suppose to be the knight. I don't know if you can tell that by the decorations on their armor. The king has lions while the knight has horses. It's a chess thing i suppose. Also, that's my set where these two guys will be duking it out for 20-30 seconds(inside joke). anyway, hope you like!

Early film stuff!

This here is just like the title suggests: early film work! My story is about chess... in a way. So that's why there's a bunch of chess stuff. The lower images were really early concept for my characters. The really big guy is suppose to be the white king while the slimmer guy is suppose to be the black knight. Anyway, over time the story has evolved and even though the characters are the same, the way they now look are a bit different. Hopefully everything continues to run smoothly for my film so in April you can all see the final picture!

Train stuff!

One of the many things i loved about this summer was taking the Go train to and from work everyday. I'm serious! Not only did i make some new friends on that train, but it also gave me the chance to catch up on my sketches. Anyway, these are just a few from the many pages in my book.

It was the best of times. It was the blurst of times!

Well, the summer is now officially over and so is my internship at Side Effects Software. These are some of the images we worked. Some were for simulation tests for fluid effects and others for animation testing. I definitely learned a lot about what it takes to make a 3D short during the making of the short dragon clip for Siggraph. There were some bumps along the road during the summer but they were all positive even though they may have seemed negative at the time. To sum it all up: excellent!

ps. a big thanks to everyone at Side Effects for making it an unforgettable experience!

Summer Job!

Alright. It's about time i updated my blog since i haven't touched it in months. Anyway, I'm interning at Sidefx for the summer trying to learn all i can from the people who make Houdini. In case you don't know what Houdini is, it's the 3D software responsible for bringing all the kick ass fxs you see in the latest movies. Anyway, the place is great and it's right downtown TO... like 2seconds from Union. Ok, that wasn't very exciting but next time i promise i'll post up some of my Go train sketches... and maybe zoo sketches (if i ever make it there).

Here are some random paintings i did trying to get my CGing skills to "level up" :P (excellent inside joke from 1st year) anyway, i tried to do them under an hour.... which is fast for me. hope you like!
